What is Special Olympics Pilipinas?

Special Olympics Pilipinas is part of a global movement of people creating a new world of inclusion and community, where every single person is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability.

We are helping to make the world a better, healthier and more joyful place—one athlete, one volunteer, one family member at a time.

Our Mission

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Special Olympics is a trusted organization supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities globally for more than 50 years. Our work succeeds in changing lives, building advocacy networks, and creating a lasting positive impact. 

It’s at the local level—right here—where interested volunteers meet the athletes. That’s where the perceptions start to change and where the miracle of transformation takes place. 

As we work side-by-side with our partners, we seek to develop shared-value partnerships, compelling marketing initiatives and immersive, employee engagement opportunities while furthering our ability to deliver life-saving and life-changing interventions to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Our Main Goals

We are here because we believe that inclusion matters and we want to help our Special Olympics Pilipinas partners reach their potential.

Our athletes are people with intellectual disabilities and they discover new strengths, abilities, and skills through the power of sports.

We want to make sure that they find joy, confidence, and fulfillment by giving them an even playing field.

Goal 1

Help raise awareness for Special Olympics and its thrust of building an inclusive world for all.

Goal 2

Help raise funds for the upcoming 2023 Special Olympics WOrld Games in Germany. Our Special Olympics athletes need financial support for training and competition fees.

Goal 3

Help sustain the program through continued awareness for inclusion, long-term volunteer efforts, and sustained financial help for the sports programs.
